The Cymbals of Strength Logo
Designing a logo is a process of distilling a concept to its graphic essence. I love that challenge. The logo for my new Cymbals of Strength collection needed to be bold, powerful, and positive.
I thought about the Leonard Cohen lyric, “There is a crack in everything. That’s how the light gets in.”
My work is inspired by the cracks and the broken places in the musical instruments I use as my materials. I turn what has been overlooked or discarded into something beautiful. Something that celebrates the inherent beauty that was already there.
People who have their own cracks and broken places (as we all do) can find inspiration and strength in what they create from their circumstances.
